Circumstances in life sometimes place horse owners in a position to where they need to rehome their horse or horses. Because I have a lot of connections, I can often help in that respect. The horses on this page are horses that I personally know and have provided hoof care for. They all are barefoot and have been cared for under holistic practices. It is the hope of the owners that they find new homes that will care for them in the same way.
Abner
Do you like a charismatic hunk of man? Well, Abner is THAT guy. You know the type, sweet, social, always there to lean on and “oh so easy” on the eyes.
Abner is a roughly 12-13 yo Haflinger measuring just under 15 hands. He is a sturdy boy and has the old world stockiness to be a suitable mount for a larger adult. He has A LOT of natural horsemanship training and ground work, he is more walk than trot and quite decidedly more whoa than go, but a good heart and a lot of try. He is a boy who wants to please his person. Abner is an attention hog, loves to be doted on, will stand for long sessions of brushing and grooming and is as friendly as he is handsome.
Lives outside 24/7/365 with a herd on free choice hay with a simple bucket of timothy pellets and Trace Mineral Supplement.
Abner is not a candidate for cart work due to a training mishap in his past before he came to me, but would be a good candidate for beginner riding lessons. He is incredibly smart, has a curious nature and a willingness to please. He is comfortable at work in the arena but not alone on the trail. He will need to be brought back into riding by his new owner.

Jess
Jess is a simple girl, not many buttons but LOTS of heart. 14.3 H 15-17 YO mare, cute as a button. Partial watch eye.She is brave, but sensitive and requires a rider with educated hands and seat. She is soft and light, so hard hands and aids will get you into trouble. If you are an intermediate/advanced rider she is brave and curious, smart and loyal to her person. She enjoys unmounted obstacle course work and trail work. NOT an arena horse for ridden work, but WONDERFUL in hand in the arena for Horse Agility obstacles. Sweet and respectful ground manners. Jess is a water horse and absolutely LOVES water. She swims in our deep pond regularly with only her nose above water.
Lives outside 24/7/365 with a herd on free choice hay with a simple bucket of timothy pellets and Trace Mineral Supplement. She occupies a middle position in the herd dynamic.
Jess is FAST, and agile, but not mentally up to barrel work. She has never ridden out on the trail alone. Likes the company of a horse her equal in confidence and will gladly lead the way under that circumstance. With a more confident companion, she is happy to take the second position.
She would do best with a consistent rider who wants to do interesting trail/obstacle challenge work. She learns quickly and at one point she was taught to bow with a light touch to her chest. We let that lapse so she is not quick to bow anymore😉 it caused a problem at trimming time.
She is NOT suitable as a children’s horse or a husband horse and will need to be brought back into riding with her new person.
